Community is at the heart of everything we stand for, and we pride ourselves on building long-lasting relationships and charity links with the community we serve.
The Hair Base supporting our community for 25 years.
Over the years, we’ve raised nearly £25,000 for many charities close to our hearts, including Breast Cancer Research, Cystic Fibrosis, Macmillan Cancer Support, Safe Rescue for Dogs, Breast Cancer Awareness, Great Yarmouth Dementia Action Alliance and Feathers Futures. We support one charity a year so we can really feel like we make a difference to people who may be affected or a loved one.
We’ve also worked closely with Norfolk and Waveney MIND and the Gorleston Steam Café, both charities that support mental health. At The Hair Base, we believe looking after mental health is vital, and we want The Hair Base to be a safe place for all.
Supporting Feathers Futures to create a brighter future for women across Great Yarmouth
To celebrate our 25th birthday, we aim to make a HUGE difference to our community that has supported us for the last quarter of a century. For the second consecutive year, The Hair Base is delighted to be supporting and raising vital funds for local women’s charity Feathers Futures.
To celebrate our 25th anniversary year and have some fun, we have planned many exciting fundraising events, including a skydive, quiz night, fun run, pamper hamper raffles and more.
Please donate today and help us towards our goal of raising £5,000 to fund Feathers Futures’ All About Me Course for a WHOLE year.
So, together, we WILL ensure over 120 women will gain confidence, learn self-care, increase self-esteem and positive thinking and gain support and skills to learn to love themselves again no matter their story.

The Hair Base and the Environment
We take the environment seriously, and we are always doing our best to make greener choices and protect our planet.
- We use Vish colour management software to prevent colour waste.
- Have installed Eco heads to reduce water and energy wastage by 65%.
- We work with sustainable brands such as Davroe and Milk_Shake.
- We use modern, low-energy styling tools.
- We have installed an air source heat pump provided by a local electricity supplier that prioritises energy from renewables.
- We love our beautiful Gorleston and stunning beach and want to do our part to keep it that way, so our team take part in local beach cleans and litter picks.
- We even use an external company to recycle your hair to make booms to clean up oil spills in water.
