Type 2 Wavy 2A Wavy 2B Wavy 2C
Wavy hair is classified as a 2. Dependent on how wavy it is, it is split between A, B and C, A being closest to straight. Thick S-shaped waves combined with curls you have the best of both worlds, it’s easy to wear straight and just as easy to embrace the curl pattern, boasting a natural beachy wave which so many people are trying to achieve, life is literally a beach, so let us help you embrace it proudly.
Wavy hair tip: Because wavy hair is more prone to frizz, anti-frizz and humidity protective products are key for creating and keeping gorgeous waves. Lack of volume and definition means that products will easily weigh them down causing your waves to become straight so try using lighter styling defining products and also avoid keeping your fingers out of wavy hair, the more you run your fingers through the more frizz you may experience.
Type 3 Curly 3A Curly 3B Curly 3C
Type 3 curly hair ranges between a light curl to tight curly tendrils and usually have a combination of textures, with more height and volume at the root than type 2s. If you pull a strand of a type 3 you will notice it has a definite S shape or even a Z on some occasions, however there is a definite curl pattern with or without styling products. Lack of proper care and healthy cuts render dull curls.
Curly hair tip: Curly hair is the most temperamental, applying too much product will cause weighed down/greasy looking curls and apply too little and you may experience a frizz ball! The key to guaranteeing effortless, frizz free curls is the application of styling product applied, always try to cleanse, condition and moisturise your curls section by section. Remember hydration and moisture is key.
Type 4 Kinky 4A Kinky 4B Kinky 4C
Type 4 Kinky hair is fine and thin or wiry and coarse with densely packed coils which may seem robust, but it’s actually the most fragile hair texture with fewest cuticle layers to protect it from dryness, the main priority is to maintain moisture, avoid tangles and counteract shrinkage. There is a misconception that this hair type does not grow, well it definitely does just as quick as any other hair type! With the right care, treatments and knowledge we will show you that this is definitely a misconception.
Kinky hair tip: Kinky hair is dry by nature and breaks easily, it needs added moisture daily. The key to keeping these natural locks beautiful, healthy and shiny is to moisturise daily using a creamy, sulphate free moisturising cleanser, followed by a hydrating rich cream conditioner and weekly moisture based hydrating treatments. Avoid mineral and petrolatum oils and heavy waxes.
