Hair Colouring Specialists
All our stylists are trained to a high standard in colour, and we are fortunate enough to have salon owner, Emma, achieve her colour masters which is the highest level of training that a stylist can take in the industry. So rest assured any colour service you have in salon, your stylist has had the highest level of education. We are passionate about developing new skills as the team continues to grow.
At The Hair Base, we take hair colour seriously. We love nothing more than creating stunning hair colour for our clients, regularly attending training to further develop our skills.
We offer full client consultations where you can discuss with your stylist, the style and colour you love and we can talk you through your options and help you achieve your desired look.
Consultation Prior to Service
Prior to any service, we have a detailed consultation with you so we understand what you are looking to achieve from your visit with us. We will work with you to achieve the right shade and tone that will suit your skin tone and to enhance your features.
We may carry out in depth tests such as a strand test to understand your hair history. Skin tests will be applied to and these tests will be 48 hours prior to your service. Advice and support will be given regarding the appropriate colour palette, the health of the hair and scalp and the correct care of colour treated hair. Our stylists will always advise you of correct home care to keep your hair healthy, in good condition, and looking the best it can be.

Absolutely! Bringing reference pictures or examples of the colour you desire is highly encouraged. It helps your stylist understand your preferences and ensures you’re both on the same page regarding the desired outcome. Remember, however, that hair colour results may vary based on your hair’s natural colour and texture.
How long does a typical colour service appointment take?
The duration of a colour service appointment depends on various factors, including the complexity of the desired colour, the current condition of your hair, and the salon’s procedures. It’s best to consult with your stylist beforehand to get an estimate of the time required for your specific colour service.
Should I book a consultation before my colour service appointment?
Yes. A consultation allows you to discuss your expectations, assess the feasibility of your desired colour, and address any queries or concerns you may have. We offer a online consultation form where you will fill in all the details from what your desired look is, your hair history, from this form you will have a price quote, length of service and if we need to carry out a hair health check in the way of a strand test. You must have an unto date skin test 48 prior to your service. Your stylist will talk to you about what products are best for your hair and also give you the home care advice so you can maintain you look and get the longevity of your colour.
